Strength in cross-examination and substantive law has provided him with an established professional client base.
Crime
Paris' practice usually consists of being instructed to act in matters involving Burglary, Drugs offences, the Forgery & Counterfeiting Act 1981 and the Identity Cards Act 2006, Fraud, Robbery, Serious Violence (including s.18 GBH) and Sexual Offences. Paris is often requested by lay clients to represent them in further unrelated proceedings. The foundations of his skills in Criminal Defence work involving murder, rape, serious sexual offences, blackmail, kidnap, conspiracy, importation of drugs and firearms offences were put in place by Mahmud Aslam, for whom he continues to provide cover for bail applications, pre-trial hearings and other applications in preparation for trial, and from who he continues to receive guidance on dealing with cases involving allegations of terrorism related activities.
